On the 8th November, 2019 our club was recognized and felicitated for all the works it has been doing for the past year. We finally received our charter and was officially registered under Rotary Club of Calcutta, Dhakuria. For the first event of RC NSEC nearly 50 corns were purchased and distributed among 10 needy families and the children amongst the street dwellers of Gariahat flyover.

Rotaract was founded 50 years ago, with the Rotaract Club of North Charlotte, Carolina being the first club to be chartered on March 13, 1968. Rotaract, was created by Rotary International as a combination of the words “Rotary” and “Action”. The aim of the program was stated to be “to develop leadership and responsible citizenship through service to the community.” The First Club in India is Rotaract Club of Secundrabad, RID 3250 while the oldest Running Club in RID 3291 is Rotaract Club of Calcutta.

The basic avenues of Rotaract includes: Community Service, International Service, Professional Development and Club Service. Future Plans
The main motto of Rotaract Club of NSEC is to help the community in general and improve the lives of people facing different adversities. According to the proverb, “Charity begins at Home”, our first aim is to help the children of Ranabhutia Aboitanik Prathomik Vidyalay (near our college campus) by developing their school facilities, donate books as we have already been doing and also arrange self-defense trainings for the children studying there. We are planning to build a shade near the toto stand of our college so that people can wait there during summer days.

After the Durga Puja season gets over, we are also planning for our next orphanage visit and donation drive for those underprivileged children. The next campaign that we are planning is strictly keeping the street dogs and cats in mind because they are often left without food and water along with Regional Mask Distribution Camps and Awareness. ‘Rota Carnival 2021’ to boost up the college students for extracurricular activities. Various other online competitions keeping the Covid-19 Pandemic in mind and provide students platform to showcase their talents. We also plan to do something regarding female sanitation, self-defense and mental health awareness programs in mind.
